NEWSPAPER

THEN-Hope my letter finds you in pink of health and cheer…..

NOW-Hope this message or this mail or this sms or……………

Letters ,postcards, registered letters etc are gradually striding towards the fate of the telegrams and STDs. How many of you know about trunk calls ? OMG, if my son reads this he is going to relegate me to the times of the cavemen!!
Just one thing has survived in the face of this booming technology – ‘NEWSPAPER’.
The charm of this entity has not faded even by an iota over so many years and that is so wonderful . Most of us still want our newspapers ,crispy and fresh, first thing in the morning ,over a cup of tea or coffee.Newspapers have survived the battle with electronic media because they have numerous plus points . The greatest anvantage being the flexibility which it brings with itself . The idiot box will not telecast the news bulletin at our convenience but our newspaper listens to us.We can read it whenever we want to and also stack the old ones ,use some cuttings from them for projects and collage.
Its true that all the leading newspapers have their respective websites but other than the journos and other media professionals how many of us really feel the urge to read a news bulletin on a computer screen?Well ,even the younger lot appreciates the resourcefulness and worth of the print media out of an assortment of means of communication accessible by them
I am pretty confident that newspapers are never going to meet the fate of the Dinosaurs.

  1. Aparna, I am convinced newspapers will be there till eternity. I use the computer a lot and most of the time is logged into the world wide web. Although I have access to all e-papers and e-zines, I can't ever imagine a day without the morning newspaper with my cuppa.

    Come what may,
    Newspapers are there to stay
